Homework for the entire week is placed in your child's homework folder on the first school day of each week. It should be turned in on the last school day of the week. Parents, please review homework with your child and sign the top signature page.
Parent/Teacher Communication
A daily Parent/Teacher Communication Journal will be in your child's homework folder. Each day I try to write a short note about how your child's day went. Please check it daily and sign where appropriate. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to use the journal as a tool to communicate with me.
Classroom Management
"Stay on the Green" is a system which I have found very effective. The goal, of course, is to "Stay on the Green". Students can do this by following classroom rules. Students who are not following the rules are given warnings, reminders & choices to either "do work", "stay in seat", "work quietly" etc. or "change their color". Students who choose not to follow the rules will have their color changed on the chart.
In my classroom, the student "on the green" earns more choice board time at the end of the day. This has been a great incentive for my students. I will also write in the Parent/Teacher Communication Journal telling you what color your child is on each day. Please encourage your child to "Stay on the Green!"
