Laura Esmerelda is the weilder of the mysterious Masamune sword. Raised on a small island as the leader of their military, she learned the most advanced fighting techniques. She eventually left the island at the beckoning call of Renuto Lee Rosso to join the Silver Dragons.
The reason for her appearance is called the "Blessed Curse". When her father, Michael Esmerelda, battled the creatures Masa and Mune for their sword, upon their defeat they gave him the "Blessed Curse" - a supposedly bad prophecy that of which the ending would be better than the beginning. It stated that his first child would be a daughter - he had wished all his life for a son - who would be much different from anyone else, but would become one of the world's most accomplished fighters. The Masamune - the sword created by these creatures - is pictured here.
Laura is one of the most dangerous swordfighters alive. The fact added in that she is also a well-advanced Earth magic sorceress and has harnessed the magical properties of the Masamune adds to the impending danger of taking her on and makes her one of the most dangerous members of the Silver Dragons.
Later in their alliance, after the attacks by the machine-sorcerer Kubain, Laura married Neyon Karowitz. The pair had one daughter, Margola.
