Colours: candles and magic

White:
Spirituality, the Goddess, peace, higher self, purity, virginity (as in the woman's mind is owned by no man), a substitute for any other colour. A balance of all colours.

Copper:
Passion, money goals, professional growth, fertility in business.

Yellow:
the sun, intelligence, creativity, memory, logical imagination, breaking mental blocks, helps with concentration.

Gold:
Wealth, the God, promote winning, sagety and power of the male, happiness, playfull humor. Attracts the powers of cosmic influences.

Pink:
Romantic love, friendship, healing of emotions, peace, affection, romance, honor.

Orange:
Business goals, property deals, ambition, career goals, general success, justice, legal matters, selling, action.

Red:
Energy, strength, passion, courage, career goals, fast action, lust, blood of the moon, vibrancy, driving force, love, survival. Draws Aries and Scorpio energy.

Silver:
Removes negativity, encourages stability; helps develop psychic abilities; attracts the influence of the Mother Goddess. Female power, opens communication.

Purple:
Influencing people in high places, third eye, psychic ability, spiritual power, self assurance, success, hidden knowledge. It's also said black and purple is the witches signature. Attracts Neptune energy.

Brown:
Influence friendships, special favors. A very balanced colour, financial success, study, telepathy.

Indigo:
Stops situations or people, helps in meditating, attracts Saturn energy.

Royal Blue:
Promotes laughter and happiness, loyalty. Attracts Jupiter energy.

Light Blue:
Spiritual colour, helps in devotional or inspirational meditations, brings peace to the home; radiates Aquarius energy.

Blue:
Primary spiritual colour. Good fortune, wisdom, protection, spiritual inspiration, calmness, reassurance, gently moving, element of water, creativity.

Emerald Green:
Important component in Venusian rituals, attracts love, social delights, and fertility.

Dark Green:
Colour of ambition, greed, and jealousy.

Green:
Earth mother, physical healing, monetary success, abundance, fertility, tree and plant magic, growth, wealth, element of earth, personal goals.

Grey:
Neutral colour useful when pondering complex issues during meditation, in magic, sparks confusion, negates or neutralizes a negative influence.

Black:
Banish negativity, uncrossing rituals. Attracts Saturn energy.

Colour magic can be used to create the proper environment and bring success, happiness, wealth and love into your life. Colours can also be used in healing by applying them to particular parts of the body. Candle magic is one of the simplest of Wicca arts. It usually comes under the heading "natural magic" simply because candles have a life of their own, you aren't doing anything special to it (depending on the circumstances). Candles and colours are always used in rituals and mostly used in practicing the art in general.

Candles are always used, on birthday cakes they are even used, this is like a miniature ritual too. The size and shape of the candles you use is unimportant, you can decorate them yourself in different ways, make your own candles, it doesn't matter. Very highly decorative candles or weird shaped candles can take your focus away in certain situations, so in highly focused exercises it's best to use plain candles.

Some say that when you make your own candles your personal vibrations are in them, making them better, depending on the use. You can buy candle wax, moulds and wicks plus even perfumes in shops. You can dress a candle, some people ALWAYS dress their candles, but you don't have to. Most people oil their candles. The purpose is to establish a psychic link to the magician and the candle power. The candle becomes an extension of the magicians’ mental power, plus the energy. When dressing the candle, rub the oil into the candle beginning at the top, or the North end, and work downwards to the halfway point. Always brush in the same direction downwards, repeat the process beginning at the bottom to halfway of the candle.

Natural oils are the best for dressing candles (gems and herbs). Candles can be coloured following the list depending on the use.

white: spirituality and peace.
red: health, energy strength, courage, sexual potency, love.
pink: love affection and romance.
yellow: intellectualism, imagination, memory and creativity. green: fertility, abundance, good luck and harmony.
blue: inspiration, occult wisdom, protection and devotion.
purple: material wealth, higher psychic ability, spiritual power and idealism.
silver: clairvoyance, inspiration, astral energy and intuition orange: ambition, career matters and the law.

Spells with candles are quite easy. The easiest is just concentrating on the candle, and think of one thing, just like on your birthday I suppose. Choose the candle colour depending on what you want. Also you can write the objective of your ritual on a unused piece of paper, the paper can be coloured to the colour correspondences of the use. Use the magical alphabet, like Theban, Malachian, Enochian etc. (yes I know it's hard). While writing down what you want, visualize it actually happening, in the future. If you’re asking for a new job, visualize yourself getting a new job etc. I don't do love affairs, or finding a true love, or a soul mate, I believe they have to come naturally. Then perform your ritual. Some spells require you to burn a certain coloured candle every day of the week; it all depends on the spell.
