SnowForum: I'm here for an interview with Justin Waugh, a snowboarder of two years. Justin is crazy and very good. He's one of the only people that I've seen that has snowboarded behind a snowmobile and that makes him crazy. So Justin, I'd like to ask you first what animal you fear most.
SnowForum: Porn star method? I don't think that it's possible.
At this point Justin starts grabbing his foot as if
he were to do a method and begins straddling the air in a gyrating motion,
demonstrating how to pull off a porn star method. It is also worthwhile
to note that there has never been a sighted occurance of Justin Waugh
pulling off a porn star, much less a porn star method.

All right, Justin just did some wierd gyrating thing and it's really bad, he is as bad as Blaize. Porn star method is his favorite. Let's just go on to something else now. Justin, what trend in snowboarding do you think should go away?

In only two years of riding Justin Waugh has become one of the most interesting snowboarders to watch in northern Michigan. He has progressed so quickly that it is evident that he has a virtually unlimited amount of potential. He has already established himself as the best jibber that I ride with on a regular basis and he will only get better.
SnowForum: I would tend to agree. Your stuff is only as good as you are. I have an old Burton board and it works fine. So, Justin, what do you think it takes to ride at a pro level, at a super-awesome level?
Justin: Yeah and another thing, it's like those little mommas boys that come out with the best of everything and they still suck. Us guys that just deal with what we've got [are much better]. They only thing we need is what we have and that's the best that we need.
SnowForum: All right, so you're saying that people with all the pro model stuff that just doesn't cut it when it comes to snowboarding.
SnowForum: All right, thank you. That's another nasty topic, I don't know if I want to put that on the website. Okay, um, what is your most painful snowboading memory Justin, the most painful snowboarding memory?
Justin: I'd probably say hitting the rail and hitting my ribs and getting knocked out and not knowing where I was going or what I was doing. (laughs)
Justin: Well, first you have to have balls, big balls. And when you hit the rails tuck 'em in cuz it hurts when you hit 'em. But if you're gonna do something don't think about the consequences cuz you're gonna woos out.
SnowForum: That sounds painful. All right, now it's time for a question from one of our readers. The good old readers always come up with great questions. This one is from Leesy via email. It reads, Dear Justin, I have been riding the east coast for four years now and this spring break I am going to Breckenridge [Colorado]. My friends tell me that I've gotta hit up the pipe at Breck. I've never done pipe, let alone superpipe. I'm kinda scared. Might die. My local mountain has crap parks with like three table tops total. From what I hear Breck has some killer parks too. I have a helmet which will help me to not to kill myself. What is the possibility I am gonna die. I am thinking pretty high.
Justin: Well if you're pretty good-looking, send me a picture. But, I'd say ...
Justin: If it's a man, forget it. But I'd say go for a full body suit and a full face helmet because when you fall in the pipe it's gonna hurt. But like all people you have to try the pipe sometime. It's not gonna hurt, it's not gonna bite ya or swallow ya. Go in there and just think of yourself and go by yourself and ignore everyone else and do the best that you can.
SnowForum: I think that it's a guy.
SnowForum: All right thank you Justin. Now I would like to ask you about the tricks that you're famous for, I would say pretty much it's sliding rails. It seems to be the one that you could do at the highest level. So, Justin, would you care to give us any secrets to trying the rail for the first time?
Justin: Sure. I'd say just go up there and aim for the middle of the jump. Don't ollie too high and you want to judge your speed pretty good. Once you get on there try to keep your balance. And like today, it was windy so you can do the best you can and just hope for the best and tuck your balls in. (laughs)
