Many lifetimes ago in the land of Sosaria lived a man who was able to bring together all the virtues into one spirit. His life is the subject of legend and fable, but at the heart of it all, the Avatar and his trusted friends served Lord British. They rid the land of the evils of the time and by their actions defined the word “Honor”.
As the Avatar aged he knew that he must continue to serve Lord British in some way, but he was, for all his goodness and glory, only a mortal man. Being humble by nature, he formed an order to advise and eventually replace himself and his loyal friends. They brought together the bravest knights, the wisest magi, and the most honorable paladins they could find. They traveled to the far reaches of the land and sea to gather these people, and to test their mettle. They became known as The Order of the Rose. The Rose was chosen as their symbol because of its delicate beauty and thorny defense. The Rose is never offensive to those that wish it no harm, and by it’s presence, enhances the lives of all that witness it.
As the moons of Sosaria have risen and set, the lands have changed, and so too has the Order. Through war and peace, the Order has always served the virtues of the land: Humility, Valor, Compassion, Honesty, Sacrifice, Justice, Spirituality, and most of all Honor. Many faces have come and gone, some have served a lifetime, others have found the ways of the order to be more demanding than they anticipated and have taken their leave. Many that have left have returned once they have found themselves more ready.
Always though, as it has been foretold that there would only ever be one Avatar, the members of the Order have found strength in each other. They work together as a team, as a family. The strengths and weaknesses of each member melding so that together they are able to stand against all forms of evil.
Today the Order of the Rose is lead by Lady Dawn Rose, a gentle and gracious host, a wise and firm leader, a fierce and loyal warrior. The Order makes it’s home in her grand tower that guards over a peninsula close by the great city of Britain, ready to answer any call of Lord British. We train together and we enjoy each other’s fellowship. All serve with Honor, that virtue that binds us together as brothers and sisters in the never-ending battle against evil. We welcome all that dare to follow a path of Honor.
