~*~Epilogue: Let’s Make Love~*~ Sheridan looked out across the vast ocean from her seat on the jet taking them to Spain. They were to land in Madrid in three hours and Sheridan couldn’t wait to start her honeymoon. As she watched the sunlight dance across the water below, Sheridan pictured their Christmas tree with similar lights dancing merrily on it. She could remember Colin just the morning before… “Mama, Papa, It’s Christmas!!” He cheered, throwing open the bedroom door and hopping on their bed. Kay and Miguel had been more than happy to explain how Christmas worked to a little boy that had never had a real Christmas before. Luis groaned, forcing his eyes open to take a look at his son, who was still bouncing on the end of the bed. He tried to stretch, but instead he found a weight that didn’t belong to him on his right side. Looking down, he found Sheridan nestled in his arms, hiding her face. “Colin, what time is it?” Luis asked, squinting into the still rather dark room. “Don’t know…can’t tell time,” he stopped bouncing. Luis heard Sheridan laugh even with her head buried in his shoulder. He turned his head to look at the clock and groaned again. “Colin, it’s only six o’clock.” “So?” “So, it’s too early to see what Santa brought,” Luis whined, causing Sheridan to laugh again. “No it ain’t,” Colin debated. “You said we could see what Santa left when the sun was in the sky.” Hopping off the bed, Colin pulled open the blinds. “See, it’s in the sky.” Luis sighed; the kid had him there. “All right, go get your bathrobe and slippers on and we’ll go open presents.” “YEAH!” Colin ran from the room. “Sheridan, leaving me to deal with our hyper son wasn’t very nice.” “I’m tired…pregnant women need their rest,” she replied, rolling onto her back. “Oh, lame excuse,” he kissed her cheek, his hand moving to her bare stomach beneath the warm quilt. “I love your nightgown,” he winked. “Hey, it’s around here somewhere…my husband tossed it off in a fit of passion last night.” “Oh I see,” he smiled, his hand gently caressing her stomach as he propped himself up on his elbow. “I can’t believe how perfect everything is.” “Neither can I,” she kissed him. “We better hurry before he starts opening his presents.” Luis sighed again. “We’ll save this for later,” he kissed her again, and climbed out of bed. Sliding into his boxers and pajama bottoms, he pulled on his slippers and left the room. “Didn’t he just say it was cold?” she grumbled, finding her undies. She couldn’t find her nightgown, but did manage to find the top to Luis’ pajama’s and put that on instead. Sliding her slippers on, she followed him down the hall. There was Colin, one of his presents in his lap. His hand continuously fiddled with the green bow on the box as he waited for them to sit and tell him he could start. Beside him was the tall Christmas tree, covered in lights and tinsel. Beneath it was a ton of presents, most of which were for Colin and others that had to be delivered to friends and family. It was perfect. Sheridan lowered herself gently to the couch and Luis fished through the gifts for one of hers and one of his own. “Wait, before you hand out more gifts, get the camera.” “Yes mother,” Luis winked and stood to find the camcorder and camera. He set the video camera up on its tripod, focusing the attention on Colin, who was still fidgeting with the bow. He returned to getting their gifts out from under the tree, bringing one to Sheridan and one for himself. “All right, kiddo, you can…” But he didn’t get to finish because Colin was starting to rip at the paper. Sheridan’s laughter filled the room as little pieces of paper flew about the living room as Colin tried to find his gift inside.
“Good thoughts,” Luis asked, squeezing her hand and looking over to see what she was looking at. “Wonderful ones,” she turned to face her husband with a smile. “I was remembering Colin from yesterday morning.” Luis chuckled. “He’s one amazing kid, Sheridan.” “Yes, he is,” she squeezed his hand gently. “I miss him.” “He’ll be all right, Sher. Mama’s probably having a ball with him, it’s been a long time since she had a child in the house for an extended amount of time.” “Yea, since we moved out,” she laughed. “And I know he’s all right, I’m sure everything will be fine…and I did promise this man a tour around Spain while we were there,” she furrowed her brow, pretending to be searching for his name. “I think his name was Luis.” He grinned and nodded. “Yea, I’m sure that was his name,” he teased, leaning in for a kiss, which Sheridan was more than happy to give him.
Luis put his arm around his wife as they took the elevator up to their suite. Sheridan had complained the entire taxi ride from the airport that she was exhausted and Luis planned on making her go right to sleep. It was a pity the whole thing was a front just to get him into bed. The door to the elevator opened and the couple followed the bellboy down the hall to their suite. He opened the door for them and Luis swept Sheridan into his arms, making her giggle. The bellboy smiled and waiting for his tip, which Sheridan gave him from Luis’ shirt pocket. He left, closing the door behind him and leaving the couple alone. “What should we do now?” she whispered seductively, nibbling on his ear. “Bed.” “Good idea…” “Wait, I thought you were tired.” “I lied,” she smiled. “Put me down, I brought some music with us…” He laughed. “Theresa make another tape especially for honeymooners?” he asked, gently placing her on her feet. “No, I made it this time and it’s a CD,” she fished through her luggage and found the radio, batteries and CD. “Ready?” “Sure,” he smiled. Sheridan popped the CD into the player and hit play, walking over to her husband. The soft melody began to play from the speakers as she leaned in to give him a deep, passionate kiss. Baby I've been drifting away. Luis deepened the kiss and pulled Sheridan closer, his hands caressing her lower back as hers ran though his hair. She pulled away, placing the kisses from his lips to his neck as her hands moved in between them and quickly undid the buttons on his shirt. She kissed the newly exposed skin, enjoying the moan that left her husband’s lips. Let's make love all night long, Luis led her to the bed, removing her blouse and bra along the way. He loved looking at her body; she was gorgeous. His eyes met hers and they both leaned in for another kiss, their hands somehow managing to remove the remaining articles of clothing they could reach. Do you know what you do to me? They gently fell back onto the bed, their lips only separating when they needed air. He pulled away, looking deep into her bright blue eyes. “God I love you, Sheridan.” “I love you too,” she replied, caressing his cheek. “You complete me.” His eyes watered and he placed a gentle kiss on her lips and then down her neck. When he pulled away enough, he caressed her abdomen where their baby lay growing. He kissed her stomach, unable to believe everything that was happening to him and his wife. Let's make love all night long, He returned to her face, kissing her again, the two of them caressing each other’s bodied. When he pulled away, she was breathless and needy. “Please, Luis, make love to me,” she whimpered. “With pleasure,” he replied, joining them together heart, mind and soul. Let's make love all night long, They would remain in bed all day and it was almost two days later that they actually left the room for more than dinner. For the rest of their lives, Luis and Sheridan knew they would never forget their travel to Spain and the love they made there. It was one of the many memories they would have of their time together and both knew that only one thing was going to make it better, the baby Sheridan was carrying. The same baby they would finally get to see when they returned home… THE END
