The Protoss do not construct buildings, they have the technology to teleport their buildings directly from the homeworld Aiur. The Nexus maintains a link with Aiur and provides energy for the base. Probes plant warpbeacons to set teleport co-ordinates, and are then free to move on to other duties while the buildings teleport in. This allows the Protoss to erect several buildings at once while maintaining high resource production. Pylons tap into the Nexus and create energy fields that supply power for all the Protoss buildings and are key to expansion. If a Pylon is destroyed, buildings withing it's energy range can no longer produce units. Buildings cannot be repaired, but their Plasma Shields do regenerate. Yellow Letters denote Protoss Building Hot Keys. For Basic Buildings, Press B, then the appropriate buildings hot key. For Advanced Buildings, Press V, then the appropriate building hot key. Red denotes Brood War Expansion Pack units and upgrades.
Pylon Pylons generate an energy field and act as the power supply source for the Protoss buildings. All buildings (except the Nexus) must be built inside this energy field. Each Pylon provides eight supply slots for units. If a Pylon is destroyed, the buildings within it's energy field stop functioning and can not be used. To avoid this, create a network of Pylons with overlapping energy fields. |

The Cybernetics Core is also another key building in the Protoss tech tree. |

Cannon Requires: Forge The Photon Cannon has both air and ground attack capabilities, auto-targeting and can detect cloaked/burrowed units. These abilities make it a primary defense unit for the Protoss. Deploy extra Pylons around Cannons so they doesn't lose their power supply. |
