Team Rules
Below are the team rules for the Hopkins Hawks. If you have further questions, talk to me at practice, or e-mail me at Mr_ricks@yahoo.com.
- ATTENDANCE AT PRACTICES IS REQUIRED. A player who misses practices without making prior arrangements with the coach will be disciplined. A player who consistently misses practices will be cut from the team, and a letter will be sent to the Mission High coaches concerning this behavior.
- A PLAYER MUST NOTIFY THE COACH IN ADVANCE IF HE HAS TO MISS A GAME. A player who cannot make a game because of a serious conflict, he must notify the coach in advance. A player who is ill on game day is expected to call and leave a message with the coach.
- PRE-GAME PRACTICES ARE REQUIRED. A player who misses the practice the day before a game IS NOT ELIGIBLE to play in the game the following day no matter what the reason. A player who misses a pre-game practice without a valid excuse must be in uniform on the bench at the game in order to be eligible for the next game.
- A PLAYER MUST ATTEND SCHOOL ON GAME DAY. A player who does not attend school on game day is NOT eligle to play.
- IF A PLAYER IS SUSPENDED FROM SCHOOL DURING THE SEASON, HE WILL BE CUT FROM THE TEAM.
- A PLAYER MUST HAVE NO UNEXCUSED ABSENCES OR TRUANCIES. Students who are have unexcused absences or a tuancy will be cut from the team.
- A PLAYER MUST MAINTAIN HIS ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY. A player is expected to maintain a 2.0 gradepoint average and have no "F's" in any class. A player who does not maintain academic eligibility may be cut from the team.
- A PLAYER IS EXPECTED TO BE SUPPORTIVE OF OTHER PLAYERS. A player that belittles, harrasses, or hits another player will be subject to disciplinary action.
- A PLAYER IS EXPECTED TO FOLLOW COACHING INSTRUCTIONS. A player who repeatedly failS to follow coaching instructions will be subject to disciplinary action.
- A PLAYER IS EXPECTED TO FOLLOW THE UNIFORM DRESS CODE. A player is not to modify or alter his uniform, including wearing or failure to wear undershirts.
- A PLAYER IS EXPECTED TO DEMONSTRATE GOOD SPORTMANSHIP. A player is expected to be respectful of referees, coaches, and players on other teams. A player is also expected to maintain control of his emotions at all times.
