Norton Common
Westholm ] Norton Way North ] The Common ] Railways Yards ]

Norton Common - just to the West of Norton Village - features the town's open air swimming pool, tennis courts, bowling greens, and a large wooded area that is the home of the town's most famous "wild" residents - the black squirrels. The straight path through the common is the northern end of the planned central spine of the town - Broadway.

Also visible is the railway marshalling yard, home of the slow stopping trains from Letchworth to Moorgate via Hertford North.

Letchworth - an otherwise small town in north Hertfordshire, England - is famous as being the world's first "Garden City", being founded in 1903 by Ebenezer Howard. Many social and planning innovations that we take for granted today first appeared in Letchworth. For more information on the town see here.
