Noblesville Regional 10/14/06 Photos

Cole Hardacre easily led the field with a 15:25 1st place time.Carmel wins another secitonal title with 47 pts., followed by: Fishers 58, HSE 83, Zionsville 101, Pendleton Hts. 127. The Millers just missed qualifying for the semi-state in 6th place a mere 2 points behind Pendleton, with 129 pts. The Millers were led by Blake Dircksen in 21st overall position.

Jacob Rich set a new Carmel Course record and easily distanced the field with a 16:10. Carmel continued its sectional dominance with a low score of 19 points. Seth Einterz of Zionsville, lec the second place Eagles (51 pts.) by placing second with a time of 16:39. The Millers placed 3rd to advance to the Regional with 98 points. The Millers ran as a team pack for much of the race. Aaron Becker led the Millers in 10th, followed by Nate Sinders 14th, Blake Dircksen 16th, Thomas Curtis 26th, Scott Sorensen 32nd, Colin Dunlap 35th and Cody Marowski 37th.

Fishers High School won their first HCC meet today. Tito Medrano broke Brock Hagerman's course record of 15:21 (2004 Regional), by running an incredible 15:19.9 and winning by 40 seconds over second place, sophomore finisher, Drew Shields of Fishers. The Millers placed 5th. Scoring for NHS were: Blake Dircksen 19th, Nate Sinders 20th, Thomas Curtis 23rd, Aaron Becker 24th and Scott Sorensen 27th.

The Millers placed 3rd in the 16 team Class A invite. Jaurice Dye of Elkhart Memorial shadowed Poore of Chatard and Green of Franklin Central until the last 500 meters before pulling away to a 15:54 finish by three seconds over Poore and ten seconds ahead of Green. The Millers have seen several of the state indidividual contenders the past two weeks. Nate Sinders led the Millers with a 20th place finish, followed by Thomas Curtis 24th, Bake Dircksen 29th, Aaron Becker 33rd and Colin Dunlap 41st as the top five scorers.

The Millers placed 4th in the 19 team invitational behind conference and regional foe Zionville. Zionsville, 79 points, beat state power Fort Wayne Northop 106, and state ranked Pendleton Hts 123. The Miller followed with 132 points, while turning the table on Cathedral (who beat the Millers by16 pts. last week) by ten points. A classic two man race between Bobby Moldovan(FWN) and Cole Hardacre(PH) was staged over the entire 5K course. Moldovan was able to eek out a 2.6 second victory over the last 200 meters. Once again Blake Dircksen led the NHS with an 11th place finish, followed by Thomas Curtis 23, Aaron Becker 31, Nate Sinders 32, Scott Sorensen, Colin Dunlap 46 and Joe Gangnon 52nd.

The Millers placed 3rd, 44 points behind Warren Central, previously ranked #1 and 16 points behind Cathedral. State favorite De'sean Turner won the race in a coasting 16:05, after leading Blake and five other runners through the 3200 at 10:26 pace. Blake Dircksen and Thomas Curtis continued to lead the Millers with 9th and 14th place positions. Scot Sorensen chased Thomas across the line in 18th, followed closely by a furious sprinting Joe Gangnon in 20th. Kevin Faul rounded out the top 5 scorers in 24th position.

The Millers placed 2nd, 25 points behind a solid Roncalli team in the 15 team invite. Significant improvement was the phrase for the day. Blake Dircksen placed second with a very good time of 16:17, and Thomas Curtis broke into the 16:00 range with a 16:56. He was followed across the line by four guys 10-20 seconds back. Scott Sorensen 20th, Nate Sinders,23rd, Colin Dunlap 25th, and Aaron Becker 28th.

Hamilton County Meet 8/29/06 Chinaquin Ridge

Torrential rain on Sunday evening/Monday morning, added to a downpour on Saturday night accumulated over 4", proved challenging for course maintenance. Slight adjustments were required around the 1400-1600 meters and the Don Lash straightaway. Soggy, but a very competitive course added only 20 meters to its length. The Millers placed 4th with a solid score of 78 points, trailing winner Carmel(45), Fishers (47) and HSE (59). Blake Dircksen earned all-county honors in 7th place. Top scorers: Aaron Becker 13th, Nate Sinders 15th, Thomas Curtis 20th, and Colin Dunlap (23rd), displacers: Scot Sorensen (24th) and Joe Gangnon (28th).

Great weather, mid 70's greeted the early races today, of which Nobleville ran much better than last years disappointing 11th place finish to improve to 4th for 2006! A good team time of 92:26 put us behind state powers: Franklin Central 89:20, Warren Central 89:27, and Franklin Community 91:36. But ahead of semi-state challengers: Center Grove: 92:57, Southport 92:59, North Central 93:07, and Chatard 93:27. Leading the Millers were: Thomas Curtis and Blake Dircksen in 8th place, followed closely by Aaron Becker and Nate Sinders in 13th place.

Alumni Race 2006 Alumni 2006 Photos

Cool Weather, 70 and chrystal clear skies greeted the runners today. Even though we had a smaller group of alumni appear (5) several parents (6) ran for fitness and fun too! Purdue runner Ryan Feeney won the race on time with a 13:25, followed closely by fellow Boiler Alex Ward 13:31. Aaron Becker had the lead Miller time of 13:52, with Blake Dircksen winning the overall 4K handicap race with a 13:53.
