Site Updates for 2002
November 20, 2002
News updated.
November 10, 2002
I was right a while back when I posited Dion Nash's involvement
in the current contract dispute between NZC and the Players'
Association - in fact, Martin Crowe has intimated that he
is the driving force behind it. I have added four articles
on Nash's role (as refracted through the media) and comments
made during the dispute to date: "Players
won't bow to NZC, says Nash", "Nash
bounces out of retirement to pummel NZC", "Doig
refutes claims made by Dion Nash", and
"Fleming should take over pay negotiations - Crowe".
I have also added a photo of Nash during a Players' Association
press conference to the Gallery.
November 2, 2002
I have added an exerpt
from The Wicked Keeper in which Adam Parore offers
his thoughts on Nash, to the articles section. So much for
not updating this site - I keep finding odd bits and pieces
to add to the archive. Whether or not anyone (other than me)
actually sees them :) And a notice to the loyal - I really
do intend to put some more video on here eventually, when
I have the means to do so.
October 31, 2002
News updated to mark
the 10th anniversary of Dion Nash's debut in international
cricket. Two new pictures added to the 1999-2000
Gallery page.
October 5, 2002
News (sort of) updated.
October 1, 2002
I won't apologise for the lack of updates. It's unavoidable,
really. But I have found and added an article from 2001, "A
courageous cricketer". How very true. I have also
updated the Links page. Anyway, I
haven't abandoned this site and, when I have more time, I
hope to have some video highlights from Nash's career up -
ideally in time for the 10th anniversary of his international
debut later this month. And thankyou to everyone who has continued
to visit.
August 5, 2002
Links updated: dead links removed
and some new ones added.
July 30, 2002
News updated, with an
outline of Nash's new job.
July 23, 2002
Given that I don't exactly have anything else to do site-wise,
I have continued my forays into multimedia and added a video
(in Real Player format) to the Multimedia
page. It's Dion Nash being interviewed on Strassman during
2000. Again, please let me know if something doesn't work
- or any comments - by signing my guestbook.
And hopefully one day I will add some "great cricketing
moments", or something like that.
July 22, 2002
I have added two audio files - both interviews from the day
Dion Nash announced his retirement - to my embarassingly small
Multimedia section. This
section is really only experimental and I will take into account
any comments on usability, desirability,
etc.
July 18, 2002
I've rounded up a few bits and pieces I've had lying around
and put them on the site: three
pictures from the media coverage of Nash's retirement
(and beyond - thanks to Jo for the third one), and another
drawing.
June 20, 2002
The Dion Nash Site is three years old today. But I have nothing
to add except this small tribute.
June 18, 2002
Picture of Nash and Chris Cairns in 1994-95 added to Gallery:
Old Photos (click 3). Error on Career
Chronology 1993 page fixed. Fixed the site "museum"
so that it now includes the June 2001 design.
June 5, 2002
Article from 2000 added, "Nash
back to square one".
May 28, 2002
I have written an extended review of Dion Nash's cricketing
career, called "The Spirit",
which can be accessed from the Retirement
Feature page. Many thanks to everyone who has assisted
with this project! If you have any comments or corrections,
please sign the guestbook.
May 8, 2002
Profile re-written (and inevitably
too long - my apologies). Also, another picture, from 1993,
added to Gallery: Old Photos
(click "3") and an article from 2001, "Dion
Nash - Never Say Die!", added.
May 5, 2002
Another article added, "Nash
rates Rixon best" (despite the title, it includes
more general discussion of Nash's retirement and some interesting
insights on his friendship with Chris Cairns). Some minor
changes to the About page.
May 4, 2002
More retirement Articles
added. Also, I'm thinking of making a page of tributes. If
you would like to say something, email
me or write in the guestbook.
May 3, 2002
"Retirement Feature"
page added, with links to statistics, profile, retirement
articles etc. More Articles added.
I will update the Profile as soon as possible.
May 2, 2002
Four Articles about
Nash's retirement from cricket added and News
updated. I will continue to update as swiftly as possible
over the next few days to "tie up" the site, which
I intend to leave online as a tribute, although obviously
it will not be updated.
April 29, 2002
News updated.
April 19, 2002
Article, "Nash's
future clouded by injury" added and News
updated.
April 18, 2002
Article, "Nash slams
domestic ban, battles to get fit", added; Danny Morrison's
"Do the crime, pay
the fine" (from December last year) offers another
interesting take on the suspension issue. Also, two archival
pieces added (thanks once again to Jules): "Nashing
at bit to play for NZ" (1997) and "Nash
ready to overcome a touch of the Tufnells" (1995).
News updated.
March 21, 2002
News updated.
March 13, 2002
After 2 1/2 years of not-so-faithful service, I have finally
replaced the Guestbook with one
that works a little more often. The down-side being my guestbook
now contains the grand total of one entry, and it was
me... so why not sign it? :)
March 12, 2002
Guestbook entries moved to the Guestbook
Archive (2). A few Links fixed.
March 11, 2002
More Articles added: "Nash
ready to boost Kiwi bowling stocks" (1997), "Nash
felt jittery before NZ comeback" (1998), "Nash
in spin after thriller" (1998), "Nash's
Test wicket tally moves at last" (1998), "The
leading edge" (1999), "Nash
relishing heat of battle" (1999) - many thanks to
Jules for all of them! - and "Nash
to lead Northern team" (1997).
March 10, 2002
The following Articles added to
the archive, courtesy of Jules: "Nash
bares his teeth" (1994); "Nash
dancing his way to Test fitness" (1997), "Dancers'
regime aids Nash's recall" (1997); and "Nash
relishes return to fray" (1998). Another Desktop
Picture, with a 2002 VB Series theme, now available.
March 7, 2002
Desktop Pictures (wallpapers)
section added (only one at the moment).
March 2, 2002
News updated; Career
Chronology pages re-formatted to match the rest of the
site. That means (I hope) that I have now applied the "new
look" to the entire site.
March 1, 2002
New Gallery page added,
New Zealand in
Australia 2001-2002. New Images
page with my photos from the 2nd
Final at the SCG added. Some new photos added to the Bowral
photos page. "New look" applied to all Articles.
February 28, 2002
I am pleased to be able to say my computer is working again!
So I've updated the News
and applied the "new look" to all the Images
pages. In the process, I redesigned the Gallery
and deleted two image pages, Caringbah
1998 and Brisbane
2000, which did not actually contain photos of Dion Nash.
You can still find these photos at Fun
With Black Caps. I also added an article, "Cairns,
Nash have fire to turn up heat on favourites", which
includes Dion's comments on his suspension in December.
February 18, 2002
News updated; article,
"Sporting stars confirm
team" added (thanks Jo). My computer has died on
me (again!) but I will endeavour to update the site regularly
nonetheless, with apologies for any delays.
February 9, 2002
News updated.
February 7, 2002
News updated.
February 2, 2002
Two new Images pages added,
with photos from Manuka Oval
(October 2001) and Don Bradman
Oval (January 2002); News
updated.
January 31, 2002
News updated; several
articles (albeit old news now) uploaded: "Nash
suspended for 13 days following code violations",
"Nash has battle
to claw his way back", "Nash
dines out in style at Bradman picnic match", and
"Time NZ made
an impact, says Nash". I have archived the 2001
site updates log because it had become unwieldy.
January 28, 2002
News updated.
January 21, 2002
I'm home and I've updated the News,
with a new page for a new year. Wow, I go away for a few weeks
and in that time Dion recovers from injury, scores a century,
gets suspended, gets selected, and gets injured again!
...If it's been a while since you last visited, you may
wish to view older updates.
