Shirley W. Smith Shirley W. Smith - Owner/Director

Mrs. Smith has been teaching for over thirty years and in her current location for over twelve years. She teaches tap, ballet, jazz, Irish step, lyrical, creative movement, gymnastics, modeling, acting, voice and piano. She is known for her excellence in dance education and special choreography. She has performed and choreographed many shows for the Air Force, Six Flags Over Georgia, T.V. commercials, a T.V. special, and for contestants in Miss Georgia USA, Miss Atlanta, and Miss Georgia. Mrs. Smith prides herself with the ability to teach students of all ages, especially the very young. Her studio not only focuses on all areas of dance, but is recognized in the theatrical training and productions all her students are educated in.

Lisa Rohlfing

Lisa Rohlfing comes from the West Coast where she has had extensive dance training since the age of three. She studied jazz, tap, ballet, and hip hop under numerous greats including Steve Condos, Brenda Buffalino, Diane Walker and Gregory Hines. She has toured the U.S. and Canada as a member of Physical Rhythm Project and performed in commercial videos for Side 1, Nike, and Sebastian Hair Products. She has choreographed for Young Audiences, Princess Cruise Lines, and the Portland Trailblazer Dancers. Her choreography has been recognized with numerous regional and national awards.

Candess Giyan Candess Giyan

Candess Giyan is originally from Colorado where she was a principal with the Denver Contemporary Dance Theatre. She was featured in the Opening Ceremonies of the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games. Candess has trained and performed with Kris Cangelosi Dance Project, Gathering Wild Dance Company, Atlanta Ballet and is co-director of Zoetic Dance Ensemble. In her three years with CCDT, she has enriched the students with her exceptional modern dance training.

Sharmeena Payne

Sharmeena Payne has danced since age 3. Originally from NY, this is her second year with CCDT. Formerly the captain of McEachern Dance Team, she is currently attending Georgia State University. She teaches tap, ballet, and jazz. She has also choreographed for the Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders.

Jill Sullivan Jill Sullivan

Jill has been dancing since she knew how to walk and continues to balance the life of a professional dancer. Her training began at age 10 at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and blossomed into her dancing with the Lexington Ballet and in Atlanta with Zoetic Dance Ensemble and Lee Harper and Company. Her teaching has brought her in contact with many children eager to learn the world of dance and she enjoys being involved in that.


Cassy Rush

Cassy Rush is a student at Kennesaw State University. She began gymnastics at the age of five and has been coaching for the past six years. In addition to gymnastics, Cassy enjoys dance, singing, and musical theatre. Favorite performances include singing at Bill Clinton's Inauguration; singing for the archbishop of Notre Dame; and such plays as Bye Bye Birdie, Annie, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
