Okay, this is the article from Revolver which I found quite interesting. In the magazine, it contains the top 12 shocking arrests of music. Okay,
enough of my babbling, and I'll show it to you:
"Busted: June 1, 1998
Charges: Possesion of heroin; criminal trespassing
Scott Weiland, Stone Temple Pilots frontman celebrated equally in hard rock and hard drug circles, has in his substance-related travels frequently run afoul
of the law. One of his more interesting busts transpired on June 1, 1998, in New York City, where Weiland was to preform a concert in support of his solo
album, 12 Bar Blues.
Driven by his addiction as well as the spirit of adventure, the singer hit the streets of Manhattan in search of some heroin. Having decided that his best course
of action would be to ask likely drug users/pedestrians for a good dope outlet, Weiland would up outside a predominantly black and Hispanic housing project.
Emboldened, no doubt, by the urgency of his quest, the pallid rock star asked several project residents where the heroin was. Some gave Weiland helpful
directions. Others called the police, who arrived in time to arrest him for possession of $100.00 worth of heroin and for criminal trespassing. (Housing
projects are state-owned and therefore considered private property!)
Stone Temple Pilots would reunite in 1999 and record an album, their fourth, No 4, but they wouldn't be able to tour because their lead singer failed
a drug test, thus violating the terms of his probation. As if to prove that the world is a small place, ecspeacially when you're in jail, Weiland ended up in the
same lock-down as actor Robert Downey Jr.
