Do I need a Business Licence?

In most states, you are required to have a Business Licence.  You must pay a flat fee each year (most states). 

How it the Business Licence process works?

You submit an online form, you pay online, and we obtain your Business Licence. 

Are the annual taxes I have to pay in advance included in the Business Licence Registering price?

Do you need one?  Yes

  1. If you are a corporation or LLC
  2. If you are an employer
  3. or if you need to build corporate credit in a tax # other than your ss#

  • We send it to you by email or fax
  • The IRS sends you an official tax id package a couple of weeks later

 

What is Federal Tax ID EIN?

  • It is simply a business tax id, and an  Employer Identification Number (EIN) or, "Federal Tax ID Number")  that IRS assigns.
  • This Number can be used to open a bank account and it becomes the id number for the business as a social security identifies an individual.
  • The number is used by the federal government (IRS) to regulated  business tax returns.
  • The number is used by many individuals or entities such as  employers, sole proprietors, corporations, partnerships, nonprofit associations, trusts, estates of decedents, government agencies, and other businesses.

Federal tax ids take 1-2 days: we obtain it and the IRS or for a state id,  The State of California sends you a welcome package with your EIN #.  You can expedite this.  Get it on the same day you order (before 3 pm).

Should I form a Nevada Or Delaware Corporation ?

Read some of my articles.  In general,    If you are not a big business, it does not pay to form a foreign corporation.   The fees you incur for an agent for service of process, and the taxes and fees to qualify in California come to more than your save in the end. 

In addition, if you have a retail business in California, you need a California Corporation. 

If you live in California, it is better to incorporate in California ( California Nonprofit or Non Profit Corporation  is treated elsewhere in this site). 

The  exceptions are if your corporation is in a state subject to state corporation taxes. In such a case, you may want to use a Nevada corporation to be a type of supplier to your current corporation.  In this scenario, your Nevada corporation makes the profit and does not pay state taxes. Ifyou are actually out of state and  a small percentage of your  business are conducted in California.
