invisible to them", said the weavers. The Emperor knew

that he must have clothes made from this wonderful

cloth. He knew that by wearing them he would be able

to tell who was wise and who was not. The Emperor paid the two weavers a large sum of money. He

asked them to begin sewing his new clothes right away. The two weavers set up two looms. They

pretended to weave. After a time the Emperor sent his minister to see the cloth.
