The Hancocks of Maryland originated from Stephen Hancock who arrived in the Maryland Colony in 1664 on the ship Supra.  The fourth generation, another Stephen Hancock, served in Gen, Washington's Army from 1781 to 1783.  His son was Captain Francis Hancock during the War of 1812.  During the first 9 generations there were marriages with several other Maryland families whose names are easily recognized by many. Some of those families are; Allwell, Armiger, Boone, Cromwell, Cook, Calvert, Crouch, North, Ridgely, Stewart, Selby, and others.

There has been extensive genealogical research for the past 30 years or more relative to the Hancocks of Anne Arundel County along with Cooks and Calverts. Charts, Family Bibles, Pictures, Extensive research files and notes will be available.  If you have photos, books, documents, or memories of Harry, Mamie or other family members you have known please plan to attend and share those items to help continue the family research. Technology will be available to capture your cherished memories, photograph your bibles, books or scan your documents, photos or slides, video or tape record your oral memories of the Hancocks.  All of the information gathered will be reviewed in detail and used to help preserve the history of Hancock's Resolution.

The Maryland Hancocks were
not directly related to John Hancock of Massachusetts or to William Hancock of New Jersey.
