Agia Pelagia is nice enough to have a wonder around. It is situated in one of the most pictureque bays of Crete, and walking up the hill will get you some great views of the village and the bay. Inside the village there are nice shops and taverna's, and on the east side there is the beach of Lygaria waiting to be explored. Not far away from Agia Pelagia are several monasteries and also the villages of Fodele in a valley with orange trees and with a Byzantine church, and Tylissos with its excavations. The area north of Agia Pelagia and Paleiokastro is pretty quiet and green, with old villages. |
