Housand HARRILLand his wife Frances Philadelphia STREET, were one of the first HARRILL families to appear in Cleveland and Rutherford Counties, then known as Tryon County, North Carolina. They came here from the state of Virginia, near Suffolk, Bedford County; around 1786.
His wife Frances Philadelphia STREET of New Kent County, Virginia was the daughter of John STREET and Hannah WADDY.
D.A.R. records show Housand HARRILL to have been a Private in the Revolutionary War, serving in the Virginia Militia. In 1804, he was elected to the North Carolina House of Commons; and in 1874 served on the Board of Trustees of the Burnt Chimney Academy.
