Safety

The SAFE enjoyment of activities, by our clients, is always our prime concern and we employ strict policies to ensure that our clients and staff are not put at risk.

  • All activities are lead by instructors who are qualified to run sessions in that particular activity.

  • Group size is restricted to a safe number of participants for the level of activity and the instructors and assistants covering the event.

  • All venues are formally risk assessed on a regular basis.

  • All events are risk assessed prior to their start.

  • All equipment is logged and dated and regularly safety checked.

  • Rock Frog only use equipment from reputable sources.

  • We do not hire equipment from any company or organisation that does not carry out equipment safety checks to our standards.

  • All equipment use is logged and items are "retired" from use as per the manufacturer's guidelines.

  • There is always at least one member of staff trained in first aid at every session or event.

  • There is always a first aid kit with each group.

  • All participants at outdoor events are required to complete a medical questionnaire.

  • Prevailing weather and location conditions are assessed prior to events and should either pose a risk, Rock Frog reserve the right to change an activity or venue, postpone or cancel an event. (in the event of cancellation by us deposits are refundable).

  • If any client's behaviour or attitude causes disruption to an event or potential danger for any other participants, staff or themselves, such clients will not be allowed to participate in the event.

  • If any client is known to be, or clearly appears to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol they will not be allowed to participate in the event.

  • Smoking is not allowed while wearing Equipment provided by Rock Frog.

  • All children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian during outdoor activities.

You should be aware that certain outdoor activities such as climbing are classed as "dangerous sports" and involve an element of potential personal risk because of factors that maybe out of our control such as :

  • Other climbers

  • Natural events

  • Wildlife

While the insurance we carry, which is provided by Perkins Slade Insurance, covers injury or death where we are personally liable because of failures on our part, you may wish to check if your own insurance covers you for occasional participation in named outdoor activities or not. If not, or if you do not have personal injury or life Insurance, you may wish to speak to an insurer about getting cover.
