| Captain Shannon Hargrove: | [CO][ALL] Some of you who keep up with scientific news may know that we don't have much of any information on this sector, but what you may not know is that this is because it's been declared "red" by the Romulans.

| Captain Shannon Hargrove: | [CO][ALL] All we know... ::She moves toward the display and taps a few times, zooming in on the center of the red sector. The map now shows a star system with six planets orbiting.:: ...is that Jantil II is the main planet of the indignous people. These people's self-identity is VERY strong and VERY important to them, and they attacked the Romulans as soon as they realized that they were being asked if they were interested in giving up that identity so that some other organization could command them.

| Captain Shannon Hargrove: | [CO][ALL] It's so important, in fact, that it took the Romulans to get a full grasp of their language. It's based thoroughly on each person's identifier, and the language is in the modifications to that identifier, instead of vocabulary in the traditional sense.

| Captain Shannon Hargrove: | [CO][ALL] ::She taps the display again, zooming back out.:: The USS Sao Paulo, Captain Thibodeaux's last assignment, was patrolling here ::pointing to an adjacent sector:: six years ago when they were attacked by the Borg.

| Crewman Recruit Reen: | [CNS] ::Nods slowly leaning back a little in her chair. Her head tilted in a way that indicated thinking and assimilation of information.::

| Captain Shannon Hargrove: | [CO][ALL] The magnetic locks on their antimatter containers were damaged, and most everyone got off of the ship in escape pods before the Sao Paulo exploded. The Captain's daughter, though, along with two other members of his crew was in an escape pod that drifted into the red sector before the rescue ships could tractor them in. Thibodeaux was denied permission to violate the red sector, which is a strict unspoken rule among the major powers.

Starfleet's best guess is Jantil II.
