What Went Right:Not
a whole lot, but "The Bernie Mack Show" is a nice hit for the network.
Other than that, the only thing holding up this net's average was a
strong
World Series in October.
What Went Wrong:The
big dip in ratings for dramas, for starters. "The X-Files" is off more
than a third, falling to 57th, "Ally McBeal" is down a quarter, and
"Dark
Angel"s aud has been cut in half (but to be fair, it is on Fridays
now)/
New drama "24" never caught on, nor did "Undeclared" (76) or "The Tick"
(97), which ranks just a tick above its "Family Guy" (101) lead-in. Oh,
and "Pasadena" (109) will go down as one of Fox's lowest rated dramas
ever.
Cancellation Is Calling:Undeclared,
Temptation Island, The Tick, The Family Guy, The X-Files
Can It Rise Again?Fox
always manages some sort of mid-season miracle, and having the Super
Bowl
will in no doubt help. On the plus side, its got alot of fluid dramas
it
can move around, and audiences tend to follow it's shows. Another plus-
so many of its nights have bottomed out that there's nowhere to go but
up.
Spring Predictions: "The
X-Files" will be replaced by either "24" or "Dark Angel." Sunday will
catch
fire after "Malcolm" goes pst-superbowl. "Titus" will get moved back to
Tuesdays, Thursdays will revert back to a movie, while Fridays will
still
be a mess.
