Leery Residence- the next morning, phone rings...

Dawson picks up...

Dawson: Hello?

Gale: Hi, honey. It's Mom. How's everything at home?

Dawson: Everything is fine. Are you and Dad enjoying your honeymoon?

Gale: Yes. Very much. Well, I won't keep you. I was just calling to let you know that we should be home in a few days.

Dawson: That sounds great, Mom. I've missed seeing you and Dad around the house.

Gale: Oh, I've missed you too, honey. We'll see you soon. Bye.

He hangs up the phone and changes out of his pajamas...

Meanwhile, Joey is waking up to a wonderful smell coming from the kitchen, she walks to it...

Joey: Bodie. did I mention how great it is to have you back? The kitchen has never smelled so good. ( She smiles )

Bodie smiles and continues cooking...

Bessie: Are you okay, Joey? Do you want to talk about what happened with you and Pacey?

Joey: I'm not even sure what happened myself. I think Pacey just feels threatened by the history I have with Dawson.

Bessie: Should he feel threatened?

Joey: No. He's being silly.

Bessie: Is he? Obviously, something happened to make him insecure.

Joey: He saw me watching the video of Dawson and I when we were kids. I watch that video a lot, Bessie. It doesn't mean I'm still in love with him.

Bessie: Then why do you watch it, Joey?

Joey: I don't know. I guess it's nice to see the good ole days when things were simple. Things can never be like that again.

Bessie: No. They can't. Have you talked to Dawson? Does he know how you're back?

Joey: I went to see him yesterday, but I had to cut the visit short. His girlfriend was there with him.

Bessie: Girlfriend?

Joey: It surprised me too. It's not like I expected him to not move on. I mean, has every right to. It's just that...

Bessie: A part of you wishes he hadn't.

Joey: Yeah. Bessie, can I ask you something?

Bessie: Sure.

Joey: Do you think I did the right thing?

Bessie: You mean choosing Pacey over Dawson?

Joey: I chose to spend the summer with Pacey because I didn't want to have the what-if question in the back of my mind. I had to know if anything was there between us, but in making this decision, I have grown more apart from Dawson. I don't want things to be like this. I want him in my life, Bessie. The question is does he stll want me in his?

Bessie: So, get dressed and find out. ( She smiles )

Joey goes to her room and changes her clothes. She goes back into the kitchen...

Joey: If Pacey comes by or calls, just tell him I had an errand to run. Thanks, Bessie.

She heads to Dawson's house. She stops in her tracks when she notices that Dawson and Amber are on a picnic. She can't help, but feel jealous that she is no longer the one who makes him happy. Sadly, she turns back around and heads home...1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11
