Native Third Earth Evil-Doers
Page 2

Although the Thundercats have an entire planet of mutants ready to skin them alive, they've found it necessary to make even more enemies on Third Earth.  Why?  I honestly can't tell you.  But here, in no particular order, are additional villains that have been picked up on the wayside.

Queen Tar-Tara: Paranoid Pack Rat
And who is this charming mistress you might ask?  A good question.  Let's see if I can come up with some kind of answer.  This is the Crystal Queen, Queen Tar-Tara.  She lives where it's cold and snowy.  She doesn't have much of a life, actually.  Her one goal seems to be to collect and store everything.  She collects gold, jewels, rare animals, brave warriors like Lion-O...yes, you heard me right.  She froze Lion-O and added him to her collection when he tried to rescue a bird that the Berbils had a thing for.  And not only does she collect everyone and everything, but she is the only one allowed to view her collection.  Even her palace guards aren't allowed to see her collection of strange and mystical things.  They get to wear funky-looking helmets with blast shields on, or something like that.  I wasn't quite sure.  But she's very territorial about her treasure, that much is certain.  She was also a rather annoying character, so it's probably a good thing she only appeared once.  But it made me think...Lion-O as a trophy.  Hmm....
Mongor: Ba-a-a-a-d Goat
Okay, that intro was a little too punny.  My apologies.  Mongor was an ancient demon the Thunderkittens managed to release with one of their less-than-brilliant ideas.  His strength lies in fear.  Whenever his foes look at him, he gets stronger and more powerful.  He single-handedly managed to beat every Thundercat with the exception of the Thunderkittens, Snarf, and Lion-O.  He never met the Thunderkittens until he was already partially defeated and Lion-O and Snarf would not have held out against him if Kit and Kat hadn't shown up.  He was a worthy foe, but his end was a little too simple.  The trick: don't look at him and his power will decrease.  Logically, it makes sense.  But for such a great villain, it was a rather sorry end.  That's okay, though.  He had great fun with Tygra, Panthro, and Cheetara.  Go goat.
Enflamor: Hot Stuff
The Enflamor is described by RoBear Bob as a mercenary, but as far as I remember, he never offered his services to the forces of good.  The Enflamor lives in a volcano and is the only creature able to withstand the awesome heat of star fire.  Until Bengali showed up, he was also the only creature able to reforge the Sword of Thundera. (Lion-O and Tygra got into a little argument and ended up breaking the Sword.  Oops.)  Sometimes the Enflamor loses his power and becomes weak and cold.  When this happens, he has to bathe in molten gold and his power is magically restored.  Luckily for him, Cheetara keeps some "worthless" gold around for emergencies just like that.  She's such a clever cat.  The Enflamor is also at the beck and call of Mumm-Ra most of the time, making for some rather hot encounters between Thundercats and Mumm-Ra.  Yeah for the flame head!
Spidera: Eight-Legged Screamer
One of the more interesting creatures the Thundercats get to meet is Spidera.  Mumm-Ra watched her emerge in the Web Kingdom and promptly lured Lion-O to her lair by posing as the Diamond Fly.  Long story, don't ask.  Spidera is huge, spits web, rules the spiders, but she doesn't have a lot of brains.  And she screams a lot, too.  More than that...well, that's about it, actually.  She's in two episodes, her web is strong enough to catch the Thundertank, and she's a spider.  Yeah Spidera.
Giantors: Big Nuissance
These intelligent looking creatures are known as the Giantors.  Their name pretty much says it all.  They're big.  Other than that, there's not much to them.  They like to boss the Trolloks around, I guess that's something.  And they don't like the Berbils.  Well, they kind of do.  It's a love/hate relationship.  They like the Berils' food, that's probably a better way of putting it.  And I suspect that the Berbils would be willing to share (they're always giving food to the Thundercats, anyway) but the Giantors find it a great ego boost if they can steal from the Berbils instead.  But they're not a match for the Thundercats.  Just too stupid.  Seems to be a common problem on Third Earth...
Tashee: If looks could doom...
This is Tashee.  She's trapped in a space/time prison.  For eternity.  I can think of things I'd rather do with my time, and I'm glad I'm not in her shoes.  But she does get to ride around in a really neat ship and have crocodile servants, so that's something.  And she also has this neat little thing called the "Doom Gaze."  The Doom Gaze freezes males and makes them helpless.  Mumm-Ra really likes this power and once teamed up with Tashee to overpower Lion-O.  Unfortunately, Cheetara showed up and the Doom Gaze just doesn't work on her.  Tashee was not too pleased with this, especially since she had to go back to her prison after that encounter.  But she was a fiesty villain and fun to watch.  I wish they'd had more villains like her.
Black Widow Shark: Big Crabby Fish
This terrifyingly strange creature of the deep is the Black Widow Shark.  It's got legs like a crab, a body like a shark, and it enjoys causing problems.  It's never a main villain, but it does show up in several episodes as a nuisance and an inconvenience.  It almost ate the Thunderkittens once.  Wouldn't that have been a pity.  It's not terribly fond of electricity, as Tygra and Cheetara discovered while wandering around on the ocean floor in the Thundertank.  So if you ever find yourself confronted with this creature, make sure you have an electric eel handy.  Other than that, ther'es not much to this thing.  Ah well.  So much for sharks.
Mad Bubbler: Laughing Loon
This unusual creature is known as the Mad Bubbler.  He makes bubbles.  We're not going to go into how he makes his bubbles because the episode is not clear on that point and I refuse to speculate.  Anyway, he makes bubbles and cave explorers get caught in his bubbles.  When they inhale the strange bubble gas, the evil in their hearts is magnified to the point where nothing is left.  So of course the Thundercats have to run into this creature at least once and we get to see a good cat fight.  The Mad Bubbler himself disappears as soon as the fight starts, though.  I guess he's not much of a fighting monster.  But he's got a really great evil laugh.  That's worth something.
Winged Water Snakes: Clumsy Flying Serpents
Somewhere on Third Earth is the legendary Geyser of Life.  The Geyser of Life restores creatures to their youth.  Why doesn't everyone swamp this geyser?  Because the Winged Water Snakes guard it.  These flying reptiles jealously protect their geyser from any who would even think of using its powers.  That turned into a problem once for Tygra, but Cheetara and Lion-O exploited the weakness of these snakes.  They're clumsy.  They're very clumsy.  They like to crash into things.  They like to run into each other.  They remind me very much of bats who've lost their hearing.  They kind of fly around haphazardly and hope they attack what they're supposed to be attacking.  Sadly typical of the villains found on Third Earth.
