First Child of John and Margaret

1.  Elias Curttright - He was born in December 14, 1823 in Oneida Co., New York. He married Margaret S. Barnard Baldwin (daughter of John Warren Barnard and Almira Judd). Margaret was also known as Mary.  She was the sister of John H. and Lucy, who were married Elias' sister Emily and brother Thomas. Elias served in the Civil War (Union) in the 13th Iowa Infantry Company F. He enlisted as a Private on 31 October 1861 and was discharged on 20 October 1862 in Corinth MS.  His residence on his service record is listed as Lisbon, Iowa.  On April 6, 1862, at the age of 37, he was wounded in the left hip at Shiloh, Tennessee. Elias died in the Iowa Soldiers Home in Marshalltown, Iowa on May 29, 1913. Mary died March 4, 1897. She is buried in Amber Cemetery, Jones Co., Iowa.  Mary had two sons from her previous marriage.

A.  Lyman B. Baldwin - Born about 1840 in Michigan.

B.  Hector E. Baldwin - Born about 1845 in Michigan.  Hector served in the Civil War (Union) in the 13th Iowa Infantry Company F. On February 19, 1864 he was taken prisoner in Canton, Mississippi.  He married Hattie E. Hoard on November 14, 1866.

Elias and Mary had two children.

C.   Jerry Warner Curttright - Born May 27, 1849 in Michigan. He married Etta Scott on November 3, 1879 in Fairview Township, Iowa.   Etta was born in November 1850 in Iowa. They had seven children.

i.  James S. Curttright - Born in Jones Co., Iowa about 1881.  He married Jennie Grady.  Jennie was born about 1881 in Iowa.

ii.  Alice M. Curttright - Born November 1884 in Iowa

iii.  Nellie A. Curttright - Born August 1886 in Iowa  She married George Soper, he was born about 1884.  They had five children.

            III.  Horace Soper - Born about 1914

            IV.  Eldon Soper - Born about 1916

            V.  Wilma Soper - Born about 1922

v.  Horace L. Curttright - Born November 1891 in Iowa

vi.  Jere C. Curttright - Born October 1894 in Iowa

vii.  Ruth C. Curttright -  - Born about 1902 in Iowa

D.  Luther S. Curttright - Born October 8, 1851 in Michigan.  He married Alice Kennedy on March 29, 1876 in Anamosa, Iowa.  They had 3 children. 

i.  Bessie (Betsy) Curttright - Born about 1879.  She married John Burchhardt.  They had three children.

Luther's second marriage was to Alice Eviline Baxter on December 8, 1889 in Anamosa, Iowa.  She was born abut 1869 and was the daughter of Edwin Baxter and Cinderella Brown.
