Selecting the RAM RAM
(Random Access Memory) is the temporary memory and is one key ingredient to the
speed of the computer. SDRAM is
synchronous dynamic RAM and is used with Intel Pentium III and Celeron models.
It is the slowest and cheapest RAM.
DDR SDRAM is double data rate SDRAM and is used with AMD Athlon and Duron,
and some Intel Pentium IV. RDRAM is
rambus DRAM and is used with Intel Pentium IV, but becoming rare.
It is the fastest available. The
size is the amount of memory it can hold. Here’s
where you should splurge. The
larger the RAM size, the greater increase in overall performance.
We recommend at least 256MB of RAM.
