Most people
will agree that there is a term for a boat, commonly referred to
as "Just a big hole in the water to throw your money."
This is partly true, as owning, maintaining, and servicing a watercraft
is truly a costly expense, or it can be if not regularly checked.
If a person
can and will do the correct service and upkeep on a boat, they are
actually made to last quite a long time. Some of the regular maintenance
requirements might be:
- Winterizing
over the period of winter.
- Proper
oil and water changes.
- Gas/Oil
mixture properly made.
- Trailer
tire rotation, and proper inflation.
- Filter
changes, gas, oil, and air.
- Spark
plug and wires checked twice a year.
- Cables
lubricated as to specifications.
- Lower
unit oil change atleast once a year.
If a person can take the time to take care of their personal watercraft,
it should give them many hours of good fun.
