atrupanchakam", is one of the greatest literary treasures, expounding the greatness of Mother advocated by Jagadguru Shree Adi Shankaracharya based on the philosophy of The Sanathana Dharma which proclaims the first and foremost God to be one's own Mother.
Matrupanchakam is a set of five philosophical hymns composed by Shree Sacchidananda Swamigal, more popularly known as Shree Bhashya Swamigal, under the divine orders of His Holiness Jagadguru Shankaracharya Anantha Shree Chandrashekhara Bharathi Mahaswamigal, the 34th Acharya of Dakshinamnaya Shree Sringeri Sharada Peetham, established foremost by Shree Adi Shankaracharya himself. This was presented at the lotus feet of His Holiness Jagadguru Shankaracharya Shree Abhinava Vidya Thirtha Mahaswamigal, the 35th pontiff of the Dakshinamnaya Shree Sringeri Sharada Peetham.
Matrupanchakam was first published in 1973, by Shree K. K. Sankaran, one of the staunch and ardent devotees of the Acharyas of Sringeri Sharada Peetham. This publication was graced by the divine Shreemukham of His Holiness Anantha Shree Abhinava Vidya Thirtha Mahaswamigal, the then presiding pontiff of the Dakshinamnaya Sringeri Sharada Peetham. The second revised publication which was graced by the divine Shreemukham of His Holiness Anantha Shree Bharathi Thirtha Mahaswamigal, the 36th (and present) pontiff of the Dakshinamnaya Shree Sringeri Sharada Peetham, was brought out in 1999.
