Before I go forth with this cemetery, I would like to recognize some people that made it all possible. My nephew Michael, Glenda and her son for the picture and documentation. Jim for sending me the information on the graves. This graveyard is the resting place for our family members gone on.
This cemetery is known as the "Duty View Cemetery", "Duty Cemetery", and I have heard others refer to as the "Farmer Cemetery". It is well cared for. It is located just off Route 602 near the Dickenson and Buchanan County lines at Duty, VA. My son Brian and I visited and photographed the cemetery June 18, 2002. There are many graves here that are marked with fieldstones that have no writing on them that I could see. Some are just sunken places without any marker. Mr. Jim Powers identified some of those buried there.
