Fraternity Recruitment or "Rush" is a time for men to evaluate the fraternities at any particular college or university. It is an exciting and enjoyable Greek Tradition - you meet people, make friends, and generally have fun. While you're having fun, take a moment to consider the ideas, ideals, and actions of the brothers of the fraternities you are rushing. Find the one that most closely fits your own philosophy and style. Perhaps, Gamma Chi will be the fraternity for you.
The first thing to ask yourself is, "What can I give to my fraternity." Being in a fraternity is like a family, there is give and take. However, you should not rush for status or what the fraternity can provide you- you should rush for the love of the brotherhood, which is a common bond shared by all those who enter.
Another point to consider is that each Greek organization has a "stong point," you should find the strong point of each organization, and if it closely represents your own ideas, "go with it."

Obtain a Bid
During Rush, the fraternities will also be evaluating you for that potential "fit." If they see characteristics in you that suggest you would make a good brother, they will extend an invitation for you to join their fraternity, a "Bid." In particular, they will be looking for:

• Attendance at their Functions - Do you show an interest in their fraternity?
  
• Personality and Character < - Are you a fit with their style?
  
• Adaptability - How well will you adapt to the process of becoming a member of that community?
  
• Responsibility - Can you fulfill the duties and live up to the attendant responsibilities of brotherhood?
  
• Leadership - Will you be a positive respresentative on campus, or to newer members?
  
• Persistence - How committed are you to becoming a member?
