Portrait Commissions Commissioning a portrait or painting by Jamie is a simple matter of contacting her to discuss what kind of portrait or painting that interests you. Things to consider are size, background, pose, length, number of persons, colors and so on. Jamie creates portraits using photos of the subject(s) which she takes herself or which are supplied by the client. Price for portraits and paintings vary according to size and complexity, a table of sample prices can be found below. Time to complete a portrait can vary from two to several weeks. Jamie is willing to consider commissions other than portraits - let us know what you have in mind and we will let you know if it is possible. Payments can be made by check or cash Jamie paints on rice paper using Chinese watercolors which are made from mineral and vegetable pigments. Her brushes are made from bamboo and animal hairs. Jamie masterfully combines ancient materials and techniques with a contemporary vision that makes her art nothing short of extraordinary. A portrait by Jamie is an incomparable work of art as well as an heirloom to be treasure. Some people ask if the rice paper is durable; it is strong and if cared for should last hundreds of years, in fact, it is said to outlive canvas.
