Welcome to the Portrait Gallery! Jamie was trained to paint people and enjoyed the challenge of painting many different people. She was able to capture the essence of her subjects in drawings and paintings so she began to paint portraits in 2000. There are many portrait painters using oils, watercolors, pastels or other media, but there are few, if any, other artists now painting portraits with traditional Chinese (gongbi) materials (mineral and vegetable paints on rice paper). She has since painted dozens of portraits, many of which are on display below. Jamie is now taking portrait commissions at extremely reasonable rates! She is able to work strictly from photographs if the subject is unable to meet her directly. Please click here for more information about portrait commissions as well as a price schedule.
