Recent Popp Family Doings

It has been a very long time since the last update. The dark Seattle Winter has passed, and our family is enjoying the long, warmer days of Spring. On the Summer Soltice on June 21, we will still have daylight at 10:30 at night!

Too many activities!
This Spring we opted to forego all of the softball teams and try to take it easy from the frantic driving and fast food that comes from getting to practices and games. Saving on that $3.00+/gallon gas doesn't hurt either!

The school year is winding down and Paula is striving to complete everything with the kids.

Although Alicia is still considered a senior, she will be attending college in the fall through the "Running Start" program. Yes, she is driving now, but just on a learner's permit. No license or car yet.

The boys are spending more time with Jeff doing the heavier outdoor labor. Last weekend they finished with the cutting, splitting and stacking of next winter's firewood. Next comes weeding and then most of the Spring cleaning yardwork will be done.

Our new family member, Lily, has now been with us for well oer a year. Thailand seems so long ago!

Our family was selected for a television commerical to promote adoption. You can view the video by clicking here.

You can read the journal of our trip in late 2004 by clicking here.

Our church devoted Sanctity of Life Sunady to the topic of adoption. Jeff and Paula were invited to speak for all of the services. Read Jeff's testimony.

Paula and Jeff went to Arizona in February of 2004 for the funeral of Paula's dad. She was there for 2 weeks before he died and was able to spend time with him before his exit. The Carey family gave Jeff the honor of delivering the eulogy. Click here to visit our page honoring this wonderful man and to read Jeff's tribute.

Jeff made a business trip to Texas in October of 2000, and was able to visit his favorite teacher and swimming coach from High School.

Ron Miller is one of those rare few who truly made a difference in the lives of his students. Always with humor and encouragement, he made learning fun, while still pushing you to be and do your best.

"No tribute I can give could ever do justice to this man who was a major influence in my life in the years as I approached adulthood. It is an honor and a priviledge to have been Ron's student, and I will be forever in his debt."

Student and Master

In November of 1998, Jeff had a rung on ladder break under him,
and he spent the winter recovering from a fractured pelvis.
