Samuels was born in Bergen, Norway on Earth in 2327, and moved to the Federation colony on Volon II to be a farmer in 2350. When Volon II became Cardassian territory under the Federation-Cardassian Treaty, Samuels refused to give up his land, and joined the Maquis. In 2370, he planted the implosive device that destroyed the Bok'Nor. Cardassian authorities reported that Samuels committed suicide while being held after interrogation by Gul Evek. Before his death, Samuels recorded a confession, admitting his part in the bombing of the Bok'Nor. |
