Mages Guild |
With the presence of the High College of Wizardry, the
Mages Guild is tightly tied to the structure of the College -- taking on
the roles of university & guild. As such, most of the members of the
Guild have daily positions in the College, which might confuse the
ordinary mage who is used to the more traditional guild setting &
procedures. The Guildmaster sits on the Spruce Falls Council. |
|
Fighters Guild |
The Fighters Guild is also quite nontraditional. Instead
of a separate Fighters Guild & military force, Spruce Falls has a
combined entity instead. This is headed by the higher ranking officers
in the Spruce Falls Elite Guard. Nonmembers are free to come & go,
but services are not free. Members enjoy discounts on most items &
have priority on training (at regular cost). The Guildmaster sits on the
Spruce Falls Council. |
|
Adventurers Guild |
In stark contrast to the Fighters & Mages Guilds, the
Adventurers Guild is rooted highly in tradition. There are rooms
available to rent, food to eat, & stories to be told every day of
the week, making any adventurer, from the rookie to the experienced
expert, feel right at home. The Guild gets newbies acquainted with
Spruce Falls, offers advice on local happenings, holds open & closed
Challenges to help hone adventurer's skills, offers individual training,
& provides tools & equipment. The Guildmaster sits on the Spruce
Falls Council. |
|
Thieves Guild |
Shrouded in misdirection, the Thieves Guild operates under
strict confidence of its members. Most know it exists, but few know
exactly who & where. As most of the activities are not wholly
illegal, the government finds it more applicable to tax
"appropriately" than to try to exterminate the deep-rooted
Guild. |
|
Merchants' Guild |
The Merchants' Guild helps to keep the businesses of
Spruce Falls running smoothly & foster good relations between city
officials & the merchants & craftsmen. Along with the
Craftsmen's Guild, they monitor wages of shop employees, working
conditions, & apprenticeships. It is made up of representatives from
each of the main businesses & many of the minor ones too. The
elected Guildmaster sits on the Spruce Falls Council. |
|
Craftsmen's Guild |
The Craftsmen's Guild is actually many smaller guilds
rolled into one in Spruce Falls. It is comprised of guilds like
jeweler's, baker's, weaver's, smith's, etc. In addition to the duties
outlined with the Merchants' Guild, the Craftsmen's Guild also monitors
the goods their member businesses sell (i.e. A jewelers' guild might
inspect the merchant's pieces to make sure real gems & precious
metals are being used). They are empowered with fining offenders &
publicizing actions to warn future customers. This ensures quality in
the goods sold to the public as well. The elected Guildmaster sits on
the Spruce Falls Council. |
|
Guild |
This guild is made up of the Agriculturist's Guild &
the Husbandrist's Guild. They oversee crop selection, irrigation,
grazing lands, market issues, etc. |
