The picture to the left was taken during the annual Hillbilly Hardball Classic held in Elkins, WV. The catcher while making a brave effort, after a bad throw from the out field, misses the runner and has to pay the price, a loss. So what drives people to play sports? The sheer emotion of the moment.
These pictures try to relay that moment in time when every player on and off the field and every fan in the stands held their breath for that brief moment. When the whole world appeared to stand still and the weight of the game rested on one man. This the thrill of sport!

Like a page out of a horror novel, the conditions came together for disaster. A large 18 wheeler coming across one of West Virginia's steepest mountains only to find no brake pressure. This was the scene one bitter cold day in January when a large truck laoded with fuel came around a sharp turn on cheat mountain and lost control. Fire fighters not only had to control the wreck, they were now faced with the thought of gallons of fuel getting into the local water supply. The photos in this section are dedicated to the hard working firefighters and emergency personel around the world. Please drive safe. Take the oppertunity to look at the photographs and take a lesson from each, driving is not a game.
