So what happens when you give two German geezers (Andi Toma and Jan St. Werner, as it 'appens) three tons of electronic gear, keyboards, twiddly knob things, phasers, pedals, the Sudetenland, f.x. randomiz, a record contract and up to 80 odd minutes of cd to fill (if they could fill it)?  They take over the world.  No, I'm kidding.  But, wait...am I?  Diesen Geezers sind sehr gut, matey.  Auto-dictator (yeah whaddever it's called, and I did three years of German at school, me) is a fab-o-roony sausage of electronic tweeps and bleeps interspersed by some groovy dance-a thonic Wagner (eh?).  "Tamagnocchi" - what a great title, what a great tune.  A jump-along little number emerging from a swamp of growly elcetronics; electrified by a funky bass, white-boy dj-ing, twangy guitar, shifty synth lines and upfront drum.  Elsewhere it's a kitchen sink of keys, scratching, sampling, random effects (yeah!) and unexpected twists and turns.  Sixty-four minutes or so (and, complaint, one of those irrirtating hidden track jobs) of pure germ warfare (ho, ho).  Love the track with the supermarket "ding-dong". 

Niun Niggung (pardon).  More sweeches and squaks.  Trumpets and cellos and electro-do-dallies.  Euro-beats!  This is the latest effort (A minus, Jan and Andi) not yet out in the US of A.  Thrill Jockey (I've just about bought the rest of their catalogue) promise 22 February release.  Let 'em out early on good behaviour TJ.  Noch f.x.randomiz.  "Download Sofist" even sounds like a commercial single release.  French Horn?  Think Aphex Twin meets mu-ziq on neutral ground.  Goes to penalties.  Mr ziq nets the winner, but ol' Dickie nutmegs Mike a couple of times.  (And Mr Posh Spice gets a cockney red card - joke that.)  What's mit the orange monkey?
