PPG tutorial continued

Pic 4 I have added some blue/silver mix, hoping this would darken the coloration instead, it seems to have formed a mottled blue-green surface. again in person it is much more festive. at this point i am pretty dismayed with the piece.

Pic 5 the opposite side shows signs of striping. i didn't paint stripes, but there they are.

Pic 6 i decided to start over, and so i washed it about 5 times with black wash, and then i decided on a new look for the "cover ops" theme. i would use the same warm mettalic colors i used for the mars issue, but i would keep them much more subdued. here yoiu see the muzzle and energy cap drybrushed with a bronze, and the trigger assembly heavily drybrushed with a bronze/gold mix. i use alternating colors to show different layers of structure. notice how i left a "level" of surface between the two bronze/gold portions of the triggers.
