Jim sang in various bands from 1958-1961. Like Paul & the other guys in the Capitols, Jim was a student at Thornton High School. Although recollections are hazy, Jim believes he was the first vocalist with the Capitols. The exact length of his tenure has not yet been ascertained. He was a member of Jim Lounsberry's touring band for all of his sock-hops, and Dick Williamson's Sunday night dance at the Polish Legion. Jim remembers playing at Bremen High School where his wife, Tonda went to school. As at 2004 they live in Manteno Illinois and celebrate their 40th wedding anniversay in June 2004. Paul's family used to live next to Jim's family in Harvey. His address there was 14810 Morgan Street(Halsted). Johnny Moore later lived on the corner. There was a barber shop there (Johnny's Dad's place). Paul lived behind that barber shop. Jim used to go there as a kid to get his hair cut when he was visiting his grandparents on the weekend after grade school. The Moores moved in later when Paul was in high school where he met Johnny.
The photos on this page are from one of the American Legion sock hops in Harvey, IL. Paul says that he and Buddy were probably off to the right standing on their amplifiers. They also used to put xmas tree lights in the amps.
