The Pearson Project began back on May 10th 2003. The idea came about when the 4 founder members; Mark Pearson, Chris Gill, Peter Toomer and Andrew Wallace were in the first year of Whickham 6th form. During a free period one day, the 4 lads went to the 'Ye Olde Lang Jack's' Pub. Out of nowhere Toomer called Pearson Gumdrop, and this sparked off an onslaught of random name calling, all towards Pearson. Names like Buttercup and Tuppence were called out. When we got back into the 6th form common room, we told Matthew Laidlow about what we'd been upto and he decided to join in by adding a name - "The Pearson Project". That night in the Rising Sun pub, we were thinking about the names and Lanky's suggestion was brought back up, Tooma and Gilly discussed it, and Gilly mentioned he could make a website. The site was formed and we decided that we'd actually have a "Project". The first part of the project was on May 10th 2003, and it's all progressed from there.
