Ethiopian 'four million-year-old man'
Experts working in north-eastern Ethiopia have unearthed remains of what they believe to be the primitive ancestors of human beings dating back almost three-and-a-half million years.
They say they say could add new light to the science of evolution since the hominid remains -- belonging to the primate family -- are older than anything previously known.
Such evaluations are currently measured against a specimen unearthed 40 years ago in Tanzania.
That find -- known as Lucy -- drastically altered scientists' views on the subject showing that our ancestors were much older than previously thought.
Experts say the latest discovery needs a detailed analysis before they can conclude whether or not it can be classified as a new species or a sub-species.
