Snowmobile
My 440 BearCat
I drive a 1995 Arctic Cat 440 BearCat snowmobile
that has had a few upgrades. With a 156" track my
machine is considered a 'long track' but with a width of 16" it is
not the ultra 'wide track'. It is fan cooled (which
allow me to run on hard trails without worry of overheating).
The two cylinder, fan cooled 440cc engine is fuel by twin carburetors.
It is considered a work/utility sled made for hauling a load and
breaking trails. |

I rely on John at Greatland Arctic Cat, in Eagle
River, for all my upgrade, and repair needs. |

Modifications
Studded
Track: Carbide tipped studs have been
installed for improved traction and breaking on hard packed trails and
ice. Since running studs I've come to love them!

Rear Suspension upgraded to a 13.5 inch torque
sensing system with Fox shocks. My only complaint about my machine
has been the suspension, or the lack of. Since upgrading to this
new system I have resolved the rough ride issue. (Upgrade
done by Greatland Arctic Cat in Eagle River, AK. He has done
several of these upgrades and has it down to an art!)

Wide Plastic skis which has reduced the weight in
the front somewhat and improves handling on trails and powder.
