Carter Willey (metric) I've been at the auto service trade since 1967, having started with Citroen and Panhard, and now including all foreign cars. I have operated my own shop for twenty-seven years, and have owned Metric Motors in Waterville, Maine since 1977. I have been an iATN Business Sponsor since 1996. I am an ASE Master Automotive Tech with L-1 certification, and am an ASE certified Auto Parts Specialist. I have an FAA A&P Mechanic's license. In my spare time I work on cars some more.
This is a picture of Steve Elhager (Steve-Va) and his wife Joyce. After high school and trade school to learn cooking in 1968, he went to work in a gas station to pursue his love of cars. From there to different Chev., Ford and Chrysler dealerships. Not making enough money for the things he had to put up with, he decided to try it on his own. So in 1979 he rented a garage and opened "Steve's Auto Repair" and operated it for 8 years when he closed and moved from New York to Virginia. He reopened in Virginia under the same name in 1988. The shop handles general repairs as well as drivability and electrical problems on both import and domestic autos and trucks. He joining iATN in January 1998 and was one of the best choices he's ever mad. He no longer feels he is working alone. "KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK EVERYONE !!!"
This is a picture of Michael Hertel (Jac440) He says he spent most of his years at dealerships. In 1987 he Moved to S.C and took a position as service advisor at a Toyota dealership. In 1989 he was promoted to service manager. In 1991 the dealer/owner sold out. So his customers said "Open your OWN shop". What an adventure, I did. The hardest bloomin boss I ever worked for in my life. Michael owns Japanese Auto Clinic in Greenwood S.C.

We are a family business here, my father started the business shortly after coming to this country in 1957. He learned and worked for Mercedes Benz in Germany at the factory before going to war and continued after the war. He worked here in the states for the dealerships until he realized he can do much better working for himself. He open for business in 1960 in Baltimore Maryland and bought his first home here in Bowie Maryland in 1961 and shortly there after moved the business to bowie. We have been here ever since, now in our 3rd facility size around 6000 square foot. We specialize in Mercedes Benz and Volkswagen repairs but also work on many others including domestics in a pinch....... (God what is the world coming to ????? ).
