Megan Clapper

Megan Clapper is a junior accounting major at Duquesne University here in Pittsburgh.  She is from New Wilmington, a little town about 60 miles north of the city, in Western Pennsylvania Amish country.  At Duquesne, Megan is involved in various activities including Crossroads Christian Fellowship, several honors organizations, and the Beta Alpha Psi accounting fraternity.  She is also the current president of the Student Accounting Association.  Last summer, Megan traveled abroad for the first time by spending a month touring London, South Africa, and Hungary.  Megan enjoys spending time with her friends, family, and her boyfriend, Rick, and takes full advantage of living in the city by going to the theater or out to eat as much as possible.  She is also a huge baseball fan, and can most easily be found at PNC Park from the months of April through September.

Megan on PwC

“I feel that I have learned so much from my internship with PwC.  Although I spent my entire time with the firm on the Allegheny Energy engagement in Greensburg, I was given more of a chance to get to know my co-workers, as well as to work on a variety of assignments.  In getting to participate in year end financial audit work, as well as Sarbanes Oxley Section 404 work, I was able to get quite an overview of what public accounting is all about.  I now feel more confident in my decision to go into public accounting, and I feel that I will have a much smoother transition from college to the workforce after I graduate next year.  In addition, I thoroughly enjoyed the social events in which I was able to participate, both with the engagement team as well as with the other interns, and I feel privileged to have met and worked with some great people.”
