Gameplay:
It looks like Bandai finally got a game right. It
is fast paced, unlike Digimon World 2, and it has
tons of Digimon to collect, unlike Digimon World
1. You are a boy, who looks oddly similar to the
character in DW1, who goes around from City to
City battling at the Arena's. But something, or
someone, is causing the Arena's to become evil.
It is your duty to stop the evil by.... playing
cards. Ok it sounds lame, but the game is really
fun. The battle system of the cards flows very
smoothly and very fast, faster if you turn
polygon battles off. But the polygon battles are
the best part. You can see your favorite Digimon,
Omnimon, Imperialdramon, Paildramon, Magnamon,
and Flamedramon and so forth fight in full 3D.
And the Polygon battles mover faster than DW2,
there is almost no waiting. This game is a
thinking game. Depending on what support card you
use can change the outcome of the battle. It
isn't easy, you may lose to a person, or digimon,
several times before you can beat them. You start
out with one of three partner cards, Veemon,
Armadillomon, or Hawkmon. As the game progresses
you can collect Digi-Eggs for your partners so
they can armor digivolve. You can even collect
more partner cards to add to your deck, which
means you can get there Digi-Eggs also. So, if
you like fast paced battles with a little
thinking, you will like this game. If you are a
Digimon Fan who wants to see his/her favorite
Digimon in 3D, then you will like it. I sure
liked it, and will be buying it shortly.
