Attract wild birds with seed

Where you buy seed and the quantities you buy makes a difference. The price per pound drops significantly the more you buy.

Feed
Birds that frequent our yard enjoy our supply of

  • morning song feed
  • millet
  • sunflower seeds
  • bread products
  • cracked corn
  • suet or peanutbutter
  • fruit trees.
Please remember to place feeders away from predators.

This squirrel is good about staying away from my bird feeders. I supply him with a feeding area away from the birds. He loves to eat corn.

Consider placing a variety of bird feeders around your yard. There are a large selection of feeders for purchase such as hanging feeders, tables, platform feeders and suet feeders. Also consider the use of empty plastic cartons, tree stumps and suspended jars.
Suet
Here is a quick and easy way to make suet.

Keep your cooking fat, add some seeds and or fruit to the fat, and allow it to form in a small tray, or bowl.

Peanutbuter Pinecones
You may also wish to try peanut butter and seeds. Pinecone's dipped in peanut butter and sprinkled with seeds will also attract wildbirds.

TIP: Squirrels can jump 10 feet horizontally and four feet up from the ground, and your baffle will only work if the animals can't jump around it.
