John L and Eldora Wham Pyatt
John Lincoln Pyatt was born in Mar 1865, in Illinois (probably Perry County) to Isreal 'Izri' J and Mary J Craig Pyatt.
John married c1893 (probably in Perry County, Illinois) Eldora Wham who was born in September 1866 in Illinois [b: 1831 and d: 1878 cannot be right. MCP].
The known children of John and Eldora were as follows:
- Raymond Pyatt b: 24 Jun 1885 IL d: 21 Jan 1974
- John L Pyatt b: 13 Jun 1886 IL (probably Perry Co) d: 7 May 1965 (buried Galum Presbyterian Cemetery, Perry Co, IL) [per Eldora's answer to 1900 census - this is not their child. Whose is he?]
- Mary Margaret Pyatt b: Sep 1897 IL (probably Perry Co) m: Claud Vick (DAR #139340)
In the July 23, 1897, issue of the "Du Quoin Tribune" published in Perry County, Illinois, John and his son, Raymond, are listed as having attended the wedding celebration of George and Olive Wham Pyatt. George was John's younger brother. Also in attendance were several other of their siblings including: James Pyatt and his son, Frank; Francis Pyatt Baird and her husband Porter and daughter, Florence; Anna Pyatt Jackson and her husband, William and children, Mary and Pyatt; and Nettie and Mary Pyatt.
Their first appearance - on the 1900 census, of Perry County, Illinois, John and family appeared as follows:
- Pyatt, John L age 35 born Mar 1865 IL / wm / married 6 yrs / father/mother born IL / farmer
- Pyatt, Eldora (wife) age 33 born Sep 1866 IL / wf / married 6 yrs / 2 children/2 living / father/mother born TN
- Pyatt, Raymond (son) age 4 born Jun 1895 IL / wm / single / father/mother born IL
- Pyatt, Margaret (daughter) age 2 born Sep 1897 IL / wf / single / father/mother born IL
This family enumerated #174/175 pg 130 (ancestry.com image 19/29). Living in the same neighborhood were John's siblings, Frances Pyatt Baird, Robert I Pyatt, James M Pyatt and George W Pyatt.
When I have abstracted this family on the 1910 and 1920 census, I'm sure we will find more children born to them. If anyone can add to this line - please let me know.
