In this age of bubble gum infested pop-glamour queens, chick-rocker Barbe Paris definitely shakes up the corporate misconception about female vocalists. A classically & opera trained musician, Barbe also serves as the group’s main lyric writer. As the band’s sound continues to grow, so does her instrumentation abilities, as she has just recently began playing bass in Dark Spectacle’s alt/rock Praise & Worship set.

Barbe first made her mark in Christian Rock fronting the band Holy Countdown with her husband Dave. While in this early version of Dark Spectacle, Barbe & the band received regional, national, & international radio, video & print exposure. The band also shared billing with artists like Bride, Bruce Carroll & Joe Club. Barbe has also sang onstage with Greg Long, and has directed a youth choir for the Lowell Lundstrom Crusade.

Onstage, Barbe is a lightning bolt; establishing herself as a rock diva in a genre primarily dominated by men. Offstage Barbe enjoys Christian Science fiction books, traveling back to her small-town home in Southeast Iowa to visit her family, and playing with her & her husband’s two dogs & two cats. (Her husband Dave claims the animals live better than he does!)
