lyrics: barbe paris & robert l. yoder, music: dave paris
who do we cry for when forgiveness is gone? thought we had an answer, found out it was wrong.
if we’d read it from the Word, taken to heart what we’d found, everywhere we traveled would be the solid ground.
but we stand in the distance with our backs to the crowd, dramatically thinking that we’re heaven bound.
i believe in compassion having mercy on men, defending the outcast when no one else can.
His mercy & forgiveness is a graphic example, but do we forget & walk away prideful?
my spiritual fate is the greatest concern, saving grace is a gift, yeah that’s what i’ve learned.
(chorus)
hey, hey righteous one, take a look around. where do you come from? where can grace be found?
hey, hey righteous one open up your eyes. do you see what you’ve done? how can you justify?
hey, hey, righteous one!
if we believe in the grace the way that we say we do, it takes more than words & works to make it proof.
rejecting peace & love given to us from the Son makes us live in fear, dividing our brotherhood.
if violence & terror is a gift from our heart, it turns away the world, making life hard.
when love has fallen from the mind of a man, it should send us a message that we should understand.
what drives you to think that your way is right? blindly leading others, feeding the fight.
“zealous judgement” from those is a dangerous sin, taking lives by your hand - where do you fit in?
(chorus 2)
hey, hey, righteous one, your hands are full of stones. why do you hate some? why do you stand alone?
hey, hey righteous one, open up your eyes. do you see what you’ve done? how can you justify?
hey, hey righteous one....
