It was now June 6th and this much anticipated trip to the UK was finally happening. My graduation had just taken place on the 2nd, and it was now the 6th and time for take-off! Jon Hart and I departed San Francisco airport and took our 10-hour flight to London.
DAY 1: We arrived at 10:30 am and quickly met up with is parents who were waiting for us. That day was very long but we got to go around and see the main sights of London. After taking the tube, we walked up onto the street and the first thing I saw was Piccadilly Circus!
We took a bus tour and saw all the famous buildings including Westminster Abbey, St. Paul's Cathedral, The Tower of London, St. James Palace, Big Ben, and Houses of the Parliament.
We then took a river cruise down the Thames, passed under the bridges, and got another great view of the riverside places.
It was approaching 5:00pm and after attempting to phone my mom from a telephone box, we quickly had to catch the Tube back to the car!
It was a lovely drive down south and on the way, we suddenly passed a famous rock formation known as Stonehenge. I could hardly believe my eyes because there it was out in the middle of nowhere.
Once we arrived at his parents' cottage, I was ready to settle in and get some sleep. What a great first day! It was so hard to believe I was finally in England!
