My trip to the UK

In June 2000 I was able to take the trip of a lifetime to the UK. After communicating and meeting people through the Internet for up to three years from three different areas, it was time to go see their end. I had saved up for almost 2 years to be able to take this trip. It was well worth it. June arrived and Jon Hart flew in from Australia to see my graduation and stay with me for a week. On the 6th June I flew with him to London where we spent the day. I spent my first week down in Devon with Jon and his parents. On the 14th June I went north to Stone, Staffordshire where I spent 9 days. On the 22nd I took the train up to Perth, Scotland for 5 more days before going back to Stone and flying out of Manchester.

Along the way I was able to experience the culture first-hand, have some great nights out, meet up with people I had never met before, go on Police patrol, Visit Alton Towers and Cadbury World, meet up with a relative in Scotland, explore Edinburgh Castle, watch Euro 2000, and most importantly, I gained a little independance and self-discovery. I don't mean to sound like I'm writing a formal essay here, but it really was an awesome trip! I do not think too many people my age would go and take such a trip, but I sure am glad I did! I have returned twice since then and will even live in the country for a while. But, there is nothing like the first trip. Have a look at the following pages which are filled with photos and good times. Enjoy and Think UK!

UPDATE: I will repeat this trip in June 2001!! Look for a sequel page after I return!
